Event Recap: Tokyo Auto Salon 2016

  • January 22, 2016

I originally planned to get some coverage of the TAS show but after being denied passes under ‘Mayday Garage’ multiple times, we decided to just attend one day as spectators. It was disappointing but we’re not really “working press” so we can’t blame them for denying us either.  Either way, we had tickets to Japan for cheap and we weren’t going to waste time trying to get into TAS for free. We did what normal car enthusiasts do, and purchased Friday’s early access spectator passes

If you haven’t been to TAS before, it consists of 4 halls filled with vendors and some of Japan’s finest display cars.  It is pretty much a Japanese version of SEMA. It can be a little overwhelming to try and cover all in one day, which is why it’s open 3 days to the public.

I’ll post a couple of photos in this post and more later on…

Since we weren’t really there for coverage, I decided to pack light and only used my Nikon D750 and 50mm…

What’s a media outlet blog like Mayday Garage supposed to do when they are rejected for Press and Vendor passes from Tokyo Auto Salon (TAS)? We attend as spectators and enjoy our stay in Japan!
