Howdy! We do realize that we’ve been slacking on making regular blog posts for the last 6 months or so, and we have vowed to change that in 2015. We will be introducing new things, and new events that have been in the pipeline for quite some time. Over the next few days, we wanted to take the time to show everyone what we’ve been doing for all of 2014. We hope that you will enjoy the picture heavy posts coming! To kick things off, we started the new year by bringing in some old friends from the great state of California, the mecca of automotive tuning. We’ve traveled all over the country making new friends, but it was clear that we haven’t really shown anyone our hometown, Houston, TX. We flew in Patrick Lauder of Quickworks photo who resides in the Bay Area, NorCal and our ‘Ancient Chinese Secret’ buddy, John Zhang of 1013mm who lives on the other side of Cali, Los Angeles. We invited them out to Texas to come check out TX2K14 and to also help them with earning some bank by lining up a plethora of tuned cars for them both to shoot for print. Patrick chillin Karissa shows the boys how to properly lube your gashole. JZ showing the boys how to properly lube your hole with Pedo Bear during Anime Matsuri Paul Morgan's Midnight Purple S2K getting the strobe treatment Greg Lily's BRZ proves that fancy lighting isn't required. Just a bunch of smartphones. The SpeedHunters master, Linhbergh takes a puddle shot while Karissa creeps from behind Linhbergh's essentials in front of his subject, Khiem's RX7. Tom shows off his immaculate engine bay to Patrick before the shoot begins While John works on Rob Amason's E28 with the Downtown backdrop Rob smiles as he knows he's about to get towed for illegal parking JohnP talks with Patrick about NSX's and Hondas David's FD sitting next to Rob's BMW, Mr. Farnsworth outside of The Hay Merchant. JZ has his third latte and is WIRED A practice shot of downtown with one of our FD's Robert and Patrick taking shots near downtown of Safeer's Lambo for ADV.1 before getting kicked out JZ shoots Cody's E36 for Bimmer Mag before getting kicked out. Danh helps block out the sun with his enormous tripod John and his damn selfies John and Patrick's damn poses. One last shot of Cody's Supercharged E36 Karissa's fire breathing rotary powered FD racing against unsuspecting guys on I-10 at night during TX2K14 Early morning with JZ and Wil Kitchens' Pikes Peak E36 for Bimmer Magazine Waiting for the sun Wil isn't as angry as he looks in this pic In da butt at IDB Racing Red Rockit makes us laugh everytime Tiny's car looks normal from far away... But it's far from normal, and far from slow. Patrick sets up the next shot Tiny is also used as a light stand. Actually, most of the car owners also assisted in the photoshoots JZ decides to practice some more shots with the FD This position means JZ is ready. Even our good friend, James Evins, drops in for the shoot John Markadakis also shows up in his marshmallow The best car is here now. (Not the red car) Not bad... But Patrick's version is MUCH better The guys experience Ricer Wednesday (more on this later) Up early with Dennis To's turbocharged RX-8 SE3P Dennis wants to check out Patrick's POV Patrick goes into hobo mode for this shot No words. JZ without coffee is a scary sight. The chariot awaits While in a Tesla... John sets up the shot for Safeer's Ferrari on ADV.1's. So many cameras Quick lunch stop at Rudy's BBQ before TX2K14 with Ted's GT3 RS Patrick is full Khiem is not. Khiem's 740whp FD fit right into TX2K14 Pimpin Our favorite car there wasn't even a GTR or Supra. It was Chetan's Ridge Widebody SC300 With a 2JZGTE motor of course. Typical stuff to see at TX2K14 Just like this tastefully modded GTR Check out that turbo! Liz Kerr's 93 R1 sitting next to Khiem's FD David's FD sitting next to Karissa's. Hey, take a pic of us It's what you think it is. John Zhang giving his best Danh Phan impression Patrick checking out Karissa's rear Karissa's junk So much bass, it moves water bottles What's everyone staring at? Oh In the end, we think we showed our Cali brothers how we get down in H-Town, and they have both confirmed that they will be back. Of course, we will be visiting them again in their home state in 2015. Coming up next: Ricer Wednesdays and Coffee and Rice Meets! Keep Tuning, Ricer X
